Accessibility

Neighborhood

This is a special location: Old Bend but not vacation homes all around. You're in a real neighborhood that is smack dab in the middle of Bend. Incredibly convenient with access to highway 97, downtown and the Deschutes River. Our neighborhood has been described as, "The last of the Mohicans" of Bend. There are multi-million dollar houses two houses down, as well as homes that haven't changed since they were built in the 20's. Being 200 yards from the Deschutes River and bordering downtown, the area has seen an explosion in property values and, as such, is enjoying significant upgrades. The First Street Rapids Park has a variety of picnic areas, river access, and one of most northerly footbridges across the river, making it a popular spot for walkers, bikers, kayakers/floaters, and fishers. Please note that we are the only Airbnb on our street -- please respect our neighbors!

Guest Access

The private entrance to the right side of the home allows for coming and going at any hours. The covered walkway to the door has a table and chairs to enjoy the morning side, or afternoon shade overlooking an empty lot with chickens, trees and open meadow. You'll have access to a kitchenette (with sink, microwave, Keurig machine, ample counter space, picnic supplies, etc.), and a private bathroom (including bathtub).

Good to know

The calm, parklike setting makes it hard to believe you are so close to the conveniences of town. Relaxing is inevitable in this private sanctuary where all your needs are met. Please note there is a shared wall with our primary home so some family noise is inevitable when we are home. If you are looking for total silence, you may want to consider a different option.

Other Details to Note

Please note that because the room is attached to our main home and we do share a wall, there are some normal household noises that will come into the room. The shared wall is up against our office and laundry room, so you won't need to worry about disturbing anyone. Wildfire smoke is a significant risk in the mid-summer to late fall in the PNW, especially east of the Cascades. Please note that both Airbnb (and by extension, us as hosts) can not predict or control the weather or the smoke, and neither of these are considered grounds for exceptions to the refund policy. If you want a more flexible cancellation policy due to air quality/smoke, we recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb, which is offered to you during the booking process. If your time in Bend is impacted by smoke, we are happy to help you make the best of it—there are often times of day or parts of the surrounding area that are far less smoky than others. We live here and understand the challenge. Note that dogs are not allowed, including Emotional Support Animals, which are not recognized as service animals in the state of Oregon. If you are bringing a service animal, we would appreciate if you would describe what duties or work it has been trained to perform, and if it is required because of a disability.

I loved this stay. The place was private, close to both downtown and great hiking trails. The place was a nice size and had all the amenities needed. It even had an ice maker! The host was super friendly and even helped us when our car key battery needed replacing. Excellent experience!!

We had a wonderful couple of night's at this place; we wish we could've stayed longer. It was the perfect home base for our explorations around Bend, whether we walked or drove into town. Ryan was proactive in his communication, giving us everything we needed to know, including a book with all their local recommendations. The space itself was charming and comfortable, the location quiet and peaceful. Very well decorated and set up. When an issue came up, Ryan was quick to address it, even though it was on the morning of checkout. I would 100% recommend staying with them. Hope to get back sometime soon!

Ryan’s place is awesome. We felt right at home while we were in town exploring Bend. The apartment is in a safe and walkable area close to many different restaurants. Ryan’s place had everything we needed. If we are ever in the area again, this will be our go to place to stay!

My son and I stayed at Ryan and Katie’s place for only one night but we wished it had been longer! He and his family are so kind and welcoming and gave us great recommendations on where to go locally for dinner and breakfast. The suite was perfect! Clean, not cluttered but still had charm and soul and felt private. The bed was fantastic and we slept so well. The suite is quiet and full of light. And despite being close to the freeways, the neighborhood was very safe and friendly, with a minimum of noise and traffic. Last, we loved having the river at the end of the street and wish we could have spent more time there. We’ll see you next time in Bend!!

Couldn't have asked for a better stay in Bend! Ryan's place is cozy, spacious, and in an awesome location. We enjoyed being able to walk along the beautiful riverfront each day. Easy walking distance to downtown as well. Hosts were super friendly and responsive. This was the perfect home base for our Bend adventures, would highly recommend!

We really enjoyed staying at Ryan's place. As soon as we walked in we felt at home, except a really clean and well appointed home! It was such a nice place to be away for a night and catch a concert. Everything you would need was right there and there is plenty of space for two people to relax. There is a park right down the street you can walk to that is also really nice.

Location

Sorry we're unable to show you the location for this property

Bend is certainly not known for it's public transportation, but fortunately there is ample street parking due to a vacant lot next to our home. There is also parking in front of our home.
