Accessibility

Neighborhood

This is a special location: Old Bend but not vacation homes all around. You're in a real neighborhood that is smack dab in the middle of Bend. Incredibly convenient with access to highway 97, downtown and the Deschutes River. Our neighborhood has been described as, "The last of the Mohicans" of Bend. There are multi-million dollar houses two houses down, as well as homes that haven't changed since they were built in the 20's. Being 200 yards from the Deschutes River and bordering downtown, the area has seen an explosion in property values and, as such, is enjoying significant upgrades. The First Street Rapids Park has a variety of picnic areas, river access, and one of most northerly footbridges across the river, making it a popular spot for walkers, bikers, kayakers/floaters, and fishers. Please note that we are the only Airbnb on our street -- please respect our neighbors!

Guest Access

The private entrance to the right side of the home allows for coming and going at any hours. The covered walkway to the door has a table and chairs to enjoy the morning side, or afternoon shade overlooking an empty lot with chickens, trees and open meadow. You'll have access to a kitchenette (with sink, microwave, Keurig machine, ample counter space, picnic supplies, etc.), and a private bathroom (including bathtub).

Good to know

The calm, parklike setting makes it hard to believe you are so close to the conveniences of town. Relaxing is inevitable in this private sanctuary where all your needs are met. Please note there is a shared wall with our primary home so some family noise is inevitable when we are home. If you are looking for total silence, you may want to consider a different option.

Other Details to Note

Please note that because the room is attached to our main home and we do share a wall, there are some normal household noises that will come into the room. The shared wall is up against our office and laundry room, so you won't need to worry about disturbing anyone. Wildfire smoke is a significant risk in the mid-summer to late fall in the PNW, especially east of the Cascades. Please note that both Airbnb (and by extension, us as hosts) can not predict or control the weather or the smoke, and neither of these are considered grounds for exceptions to the refund policy. If you want a more flexible cancellation policy due to air quality/smoke, we recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb, which is offered to you during the booking process. If your time in Bend is impacted by smoke, we are happy to help you make the best of it—there are often times of day or parts of the surrounding area that are far less smoky than others. We live here and understand the challenge. Note that dogs are not allowed, including Emotional Support Animals, which are not recognized as service animals in the state of Oregon. If you are bringing a service animal, we would appreciate if you would describe what duties or work it has been trained to perform, and if it is required because of a disability.

Ryan and Katie’s place was amazing! The studio was beautiful and clean. We loved being just a couple minutes from the river trail and only a 15 minute walk downtown. Ryan and Katie were very attentive and thoughtful. The book of recommendations for restaurants and activities in the Bend area was very helpful. Definitely loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Ryan and Katie's was a true five star experience! I have stayed at many Airbnbs in the Bend area and elsewhere, and usually what you see if what you get. This one exceeded my expectations! I expected a queen-sized bed; I got a king. I thought the neighborhood would be nice; I didn't realize the home was half a block from a gorgeous trail along the river. The hosts greeted me warmly; then offered personalized suggestions on where to go hiking. I wound up doing a delightful 7 mile RT hike to see two of the falls along the Deschutes River. One of my favorite Airbnbs to date, 10/10, would recommend.

Amazing place for a short stay, and I wish I could have stayed longer! Awesome, chic decor with lots of light coming in and the option for being super private with the closed blinds and location too, plus deer right on the property next door! I felt super safe, supported by the hosts, and it's right near the Deschutes River trail to go for a run/walk right from the home.

What a great place! I came in late and left early but I wish I had more time to enjoy the space! The bed was so comfortable I don’t think I even moved all night. I would definitely stay again!

Location

Sorry we're unable to show you the location for this property

Bend is certainly not known for it's public transportation, but fortunately there is ample street parking due to a vacant lot next to our home. There is also parking in front of our home.
