Neighborhood

Rural five+ acre lots with views of Smith Rock and farm properties. Primary residences from mansions to mobile homes and everything in between. Plenty of farms and ranches as well including adorable alpacas and plenty of cattle and horses.

Guest Access

The entire home is available to the guest and is not shared with anyone. The shop (100' up the driveway) is accessed occasionally (during business/working hours) by us or our business partners.

Good to know

You will be welcomed into the bright living room with a cozy fireplace that flows into the back patio with views that might take your breath away a little. The view extends into the primary bedroom. The property includes five acres of rural land that you are welcome to explore. Note that there is a detached shop about 140' from the house that is accessed by our business partner.

Other Details to Note

Please note the well-water is very hard. While the minerals are great for your bones, it does have a very subtle salty taste and is slightly whitish colored. It has been tested and is verified clean and healthy. Also, importantly, we require guests who use the steam-shower (sauna) to squeegee the glass after use, otherwise the mineral buildup is very difficult to remove. Note that dogs are not allowed, including Emotional Support Animals, which are not recognized as service animals in the state of Oregon. If you are bringing a service animal, we would appreciate if you would describe what duties or work it has been trained to perform, and if it is required because of a disability. Wildfire smoke is a significant risk in the mid-summer to late fall in the PNW, especially east of the Cascades. Please note that both Airbnb (and by extension, us as hosts) can not predict or control the weather or the smoke, and neither of these are considered grounds for exceptions to the refund policy. If you want a more flexible cancellation policy due to air quality/smoke, we recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb, which is offered to you during the booking process. If your time in Bend is impacted by smoke, we are happy to help you make the best of it—there are often times of day or parts of the surrounding area that are far less smoky than others. We live here and understand the challenge.

This ranks among our all time favorite vacation rentals. It was clean, comfortable, very well furnished, quiet, private, and with spectacular views. The sunrise views and nighttime stars were spectacular! The location is convenient to the town of Terrebonne, Smith Rock State Park and the gorgeous Steelhead Falls on the Deschutes River. It is also a reasonable place to stay for visits to the Painted Hills in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Highly recommended!

10/10 best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in (and we use Airbnb 5-6 times per year). Beautiful with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, extraordinarily neat and clean, well-stocked with extra towels and blankets, coffee, olive oil, etc. Easy 7-minute drive to Smith Rock. Would definitely return.

We totally fell in love with Ryan's place. The views of Smith Rock out the back were astounding. The views inside the house were off the charts as well. Ryan did a fantastic job decorating and equiping his home with the latest gadgets and decorations to give it 6 stars stay out of 5. Furthermore Ryan's courtesy and promptness iare legendary. He met us at the house and showed us all around, evening giving us something special for our Smith Rock trip. I must say this is simply THE BEST Airbnb that I have ever stayed in. Way to go Ryan. I can't return soon enough to visit again!!
